Tom Carnes regularly represented banks and bank holding companies in litigation
brought by and against such institutions. Tom is a former commercial banker, and this experience
is an asset to the bank clients and debtors who seek his assistance.
Tom graduated from law school soon after the bank failures and coincident bankruptcy
boom of the late 1980s, and spent a significant portion of his early career litigating
claims related to bank failures and bankruptcy in bankruptcy court, federal court,
and state court, including federal and state courts of appeals. More recently, he
has been engaged as special counsel in adversary proceedings in bankruptcy cases involving claims
to which non-bankruptcy law applies.
