Litigation, of course, breeds appeals. Some firms and some lawyers handle only appeals,
and utilizing the expertise of an appellate specialist if, of course, one viable
approach to dealing with appellate litigation. But having a trial lawyer lead or
participate as part of an appellate team can also be invaluable, just as can including
an appellate specialist on a trial team.
Tom Carnes has led and assisted in appellate matters since he was a young lawyer,
and continues to do so today. He has worked primarily on appeals in the areas of
commercial litigation, family law, and professional malpractice, but his writing
